I just purchased my first ICCS coin ( ebay item 331273623239), an Australian 1937 crown in MS64.
Does anybody have experience with ICCS grading standards, especially for large coins and non US/Canadian coins. From looking at other posts they are regarded (especially by Canadians) as at least nearly as good as the big 3. Is that a fair assessment of them?
Has anyone cracked out ICCS holders and submitted to PCGS? What would a MS64 regrade as? If I got PCGS MS63 I'm doing OK, at MS64 I'm well in front.

ICCS is a very good TPG IMO despite what others may say about them. The only non-Canadian Coins graded by ICCS I've owned are 2 Morgan dollars which were accurately graded IMO but Morgans are a very easy series to grade and are very popular so you'd expect a big TPG would know how to do. I wouldn't trust ICCS for Australian coins, you need to grade the coin for yourself. The coin you bought looks MS for sure and shows very little marks so could very well grade 64 and easily 63 if it looks the same in hand as it does in the pics.

ICCS is generally more conservative than the big three - at least with regards to Canadian coins. Looking at the auction you won, it is certainly a 63 and looks like a 64 to me - nice coin, the lustre looks booming.

The consensus about ICCS is that they grade ½ to 1 grade lower than PCGS or NGC.
