Hi everyone. A friend of mine and I are trying to identify the Maris number for this New Jersey copper but we could not because it is very worn. I'm sure any of you can identify it. We need your help. Thanks and have a nice day.

I'll throw out 65-u. Because it is the closest sheild I can see. Until some one corrects me.

to CCF!

The mods will most likely move this to a section that you will get more face time on, and Answers.

Good Luck.

The first you in UNUM and the R in PLURIBUS are visible, amida, and I don't think they line up for the you reverse. I think the only variety for which the proportions of the horse, plow and shield match up is 39-a. What say you?

Now that it's identified, yup.

I agree with philadelphian on 39-a

An R2, worth less than $50 in that condition. Still a very cool coin that will always be in demand for its history alone!
