Hey guys, I got this 1976 Washington from a friend, its toned to a gold color, what causes this to happen? Also it appears to be machine die on in god we trust, liberty, date, and also in E pluribus unum. Came out of a set that he busted up for some crazy reason unfortunately this is the only one he had left when I got to him. Any thoughts to what it is MD or what, and why the tone is gold color. Thanks for looking and commenting

I am not seeing any kind of doubling from these pics. The toning is natural and is caused by chemicals in the environment.

Probably because it was for the Bi-Centennial coin it may have been gold plated as a collectable. Then spent later when they were common.
