Long story short, my father in law is turning 50 in just a few weeks, and I have an extra 1964-P mint set that I think would make an excellent gift for the occasion. It's in some sort of custom slab made for such sets (the set belonged to a deceased member of my father in law's church that I was hired to appraise) so no original packaging or anything like that.

Since my father in law is a history buff, I figured I would include a little card explaining the historical significance of his birth year--something like you would expect Reader's Digest to include with such a set.

Does anybody have or know of an existing card I can either copy or buy cheaply? I'll probably end up printing it off myself, but it's always nice to have a format to follow/copy.

Thanks all!

I have seen in some card shops and novelty stores, birthday cards with a list of significant people and occurances that happened in your birth year or even on your specific birth date. I bet of you google it you can find some

Go to your nearest Cracker Barrel. They used to have things like that. I got one for my birth year as a gift, pretty neat.

Good idea, jbuck! I'm sure the wife won't object to a dinner date haha

If I write it myself, I'm thinking I might include:

- Important people
- Important events
- Fun facts about the coins (last year of silver, highest nickel mintage, date freeze etc)
- Buying power of each coin in 1964
- Silver value of each coin in 2014

I'd just make up your own card.

Here are a couple good info spots online:

My birth year too, don't remind me of the big 50 coming up, LOL
