Picked this up at a coin show a week ago for very cheap. It was thrown into a large case with multiple other random bills and I spotted this with only the top right serial sticking out from under another bill. These are relatively scare with only 76,000 New York notes printed. Thanks for looking.

I can't recall the reason these were issued. Does someone know the reason why FRBNs were printed?

Great pickup! Way undervalued in relationship to scarcity.

Issued during the Great Depression in order to increase the money supply. They were printed over one weekend.
Rest in Peace

Thanks for the comments! Dealer only had $40 for this, so I have a feeling the dealer didn't exactly know what he had.

It's worth at least a couple hundred bucks.
