Hello VancouverIslandCoinKid
Your 1978 penny is a great example of a clipped coin, BUT your 1916 Large Cent looks like it met a file or a grinder. Can you post a photo of a close up on the edge of the Large Cent please, I may be wrong but it looks like a Garage Job.

The 1916 looks like PMD.

Nice 83. Was this a recent purchase? Looks just like the one I was looking at purchasing on ebay.

I agree with the 1916 being PMD, I don't see any evidence of details fading out near the clip nor the Blakesley effect.

Ha ha all of these have been purchased from ebay. I might send the 1916 off the ICCS, and along with some others. Please post your clipped pictures here to!

HI VancouverIslandCoinKid and welcome aboard.
Do not send the 1916 to ICCS as they will not grade it. Its not an authentic clip.
Love the 1983 double clip!

Instead of sending the 1916 off to ICCS, send it back to the seller, they have a 14 day refund policy, the homemade clips are reason enough to try and recover about $40.
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...
