I am leaning towards a planchet flaw but I would love to get some opinions!! any thoughts? I played with the lighting a bit to highlight the "crater".
thanks for looking.

I think it's a planchet flaw, the fact that the reeding looks a little incomplete makes me think that the metal didnt completely flow into the collar. I'd imagine it would if it were a strike through.

This is just IMO, I could probably be very wrong

Struck-through. I'm not completely sure from my small screen, but the collar may have been struck through too.

Strike through, and through something hard enough to allow the obverse beads to be struck fully... looks like it had a well-circulated life...

yes I agree with the above opinions, it is struck through because of the evidence of not full detail of the antler and the obverse of the coin, it would not be seen usually at all. very nice coin, I once found a 2010 cad 5 cent with over half of the obverse strike through.

It is also a strike through probably grease. If it were a wood chip you would see the grain, if it were cloth you would see the weave. You will also see thread and wire strike throughs. If there is nor texture, ie grain or weave odds are pretty good it is grease.
