I got a huge bag of ugly circulated Ikes and got bored and tried to pull out a set of each type?

I am pretty sure I probably got this wrong.

I did read some threads on this and I think I got the 1976 ones right the different font in the S in states makes it super easy but the 1972 are tricky for me..

Any feed back help or input welcome...

trying to pull up some resources, but the pictures you have labeled type 2 and 3 for the 1972 appear the same. I think type 3 is a bit different, but I can't get the site to load

they look similar they might be the same? I pulled 4 different coins of which I think represent the coins I have broken into groups of similar coins. I have of multiples of each about 42 in total of just the 1972 D & P.

I really have no clue was just my attempt to figure it out on my own which I had assumed I did wrong?

Yeah, the two you have listed are actually type 3. Type 3 have higher relief on the US and a larger Gulf of Mexico. Type 2 are rare and have low relief and the islands are all blurred together in a blob.

The 1972 Variety 2 Eisenhower dollar has what looks like wavy lines for the islands, actually appearing as one blob of an island.

Thanks Coop, Jbuck, Agrippa

I understand it now all the coins I had didn't any of the rare type 2 I did find whole lot of type 3.

Looking for a big blurry mess..

The funny thing is I think I tossed few like that back thinking they where hit or too damaged to use them to sort through.

What are some other common ike varities?
