chasingtailbar Pillar of the Community 968 Posts	Posted 08/16/2014 7:30 pm I held the first from 64 due to the weak strike, but the second's cheek is clean enough to overcome strike considerations when grading these. Remember how coins are graded now; Luster Eye appeal Contact marks Strike. Strike isn't really that important until you're looking at gem or better grades, so 65 or higher. 84-O has some good strikes out there, so these would never make 65 unless they were out and out gems. Some dates are known for having weak strikes... those dates may see the TPG's overlooking a subpar strike if the coin has nice luster and minimal contact marks.
