DCM Coins Valued Member United States 446 Posts	Posted 08/18/2014 10:43 am I hunted a box of dimes once and pulled out a Mercury dime and a silver Roosevelt. I also saved the 2009 dimes (those are low mintage). If for some reason a 1996W dime or an impaired proof had shown up, I would have pulled those too. I think I may have saved some older clad dimes that were in pristine condition to upgrade what I already had. Report this Post to the Staff

One thing I forgot to point out.....since I live in "D" country, I did pull out "P" dimes for dates that I did not already have. I may eventually do another box of dimes but the next box I think will be nickels. Report this Post to the Staff

I mainly edge search, and I look for: 1964 and older US 1992-present clad and silver proof 1968 and earlier Canadian (some 1968 Canadian dimes are 50% silver) Mercury dimes Barber dimes, and of course, anything older. Foreign coins I normally don't keep unless unusual, or silver. When I listen to LED ZEPPELIN...so do my neighbors... Roll hunting since '77 Dirt fishing since '72 Report this Post to the Staff
