It'll soon be September, which means Autumn / Fall for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, so here's a new topic to cheer us all up and make us think of foreign holidays! The 26 Days of Alphabetic Coins! Starting on September 1, post a coin from your collection from a country beginning with a successive letter of the alphabet. So, post your pics of Australian, Albanian, Austrian and Algerian coins on Day 1, then coins from Brazil, Bermuda and Bhutan on Day 2, right up to Zambia and Zimbabwe on Day 26! Any coin issuing entity past or present is acceptable, so you can post German city states or coins from parts of the Ancient World! Here's the schedule: September 1 - A September 2 - B September 3 - C September 4 - D September 5 - E September 6 - F September 7 - G September 8 - H September 9 - I September 10 - J September 11 - K September 12 - L September 13 - M September 14 - N September 15 - O September 16 - P September 17 - Q September 18 - R September 19 - S September 20 - T September 21 - U September 22 - V September 23 - W September 24 - X September 25 - Y September 26 - Z So get out your cameras and let's see some great photos of your coins from exotic places, starting on September 1st!

September 24 is going to be a quiet day... unless someone comes up with something imaginitive!

Quote: September 24 is going to be a quiet day... unless someone comes up with something imaginitive! I've discussed a few possibilities earlier; it's not entirely impossible, but a lot depends on your inclusiveness in regard to Chinese transliteration (e.g. the coins of the place normally referred to as Xinjiang actually use a different spelling that doesn't start with X).

I guess anything from Xi'an in Shaanxi could be included too.

I'm glad there's been quite a bit of interest - Xi'an sounds great! Looking forward to September 1st!

Albania, 50 leke, 1996. My only coin from Albania. Afghanistan, 1 afghani, SH1304 (1925 I think?). The date is a bit funky. Austria, 1 corona, 1908. Commemorating Franz Joseph's 60-year reign.
