So I brought the note to a LCS yesterday. He thinks it is genuine and showed me one that was certified. It was very similar to the one I have. I didnt think quick enough as I should have asked him to photograph it. He had a price of $9500 on it. He too said people try and fake them all the time but in his opinion it looks fine. I also brought a note to him that was supposed to be a dollar bill, but only went through the first printing process. Its mostly white and has a few things it. I think the serial number and possibly the seal. I cant quite remember as its not in front of me at the moment. When I get home later this morning. Ill take some pics

any thoughts on this from error note?

Left side has 2 different plate positions starting with H and F.

Right side has 2 different face plate numbers (H and F) as well.

Ant â€" Nice sn 1 note.

Ant...

If your LCS guy thinks it is a valid error then by all means send it in to PCGS currency for slabbing. Hope it's legit.

On the mostly blank note you mentioned, it missed the 2nd printing completely. Probably a 3-5 hundred dollar note depending on condition.

The hits just keep on coming!

Ceylon

The different plate numbers are a big concern. If the note is legit it means the note saw two completely different 2nd and 3rd printings and is not some type of offset or wet ink transfer. No duplication of the green ink is weird, too.

It is strange.

It's either a super error or a very creative faked error.

Recap.... The serial number one note is a "home run" and well worth slabbing. The Picasso note may be fake but without seeing it "up close and personal" I cannot say for sure. Your LCS guy says it looks real, so send it in and find out. The blank front note (missing the 2nd printing) is real. That would be something very difficult to fake.

Be sure and post any of your other currency discoveries. We like to see "new" old stuff like large size notes, high denominations, National bank notes and the weird and unusual errors.

So far, so good and Thx for posting the finds!

There are several grading companies to choose from. I suggest either PMG or PCGS.

The large size notes were pulled in the late 1920's and early 1930's. Yogi's playing career was in the 1950's to early 60's (I think) and these notes were long gone from circulation when he played. He could have signed it but I doubt it.

My Dad was a milk man and I quizzed him before he died about when things quit circulating and he said the last time he got a large bill in circulation was just after the big war. A lot of money was rat holed during the War and when it was finally over in late 1945 the money started coming out of hiding.

Anyway, compare that signature on the bill with some of Yogi's known autographs on the internet and you will get some idea if it's close or not. If you think it's close you can send it to PSA for verification/authentication.

You could also try to get on Pawn Stars with it and let Rick humiliate you with a 20$ offer "cause it's in such bad shape"!

Im not concerned with it being real. My grandfather knew him personally. I have had dinner with him multiple times over the years because if there friendship. I'm sure he had it signed at some point in time. Someone else mentioned psa and jsa for authentication. They are both located 20 min from my home. Ill have to reach out to them as there is quite a bit of sports autographs and I dont really want. Its not my thing

As far as the note, I find it cool as it is much larger then a regular one. I also found one similar sized but with an eagle on it. Ill post pics
