This would be my opinion with a rim ding..
#1) Is it so noticable that it becomes unappealing to the eye? If so .. just pass and wait for a better example to come along.
#2) If it's not so noticable what would the grade of the coin be with out the rim ding?
- Take that grade... deduct 5 points.. and that may ball park the value..
eg. If the coin would grade AU 50... (subtract 5) and now for value top end may be around the EF 45 range...
Each coin is case by case scenario but that would be about the LEAST I would deduct from the coin.. if the ding held a scratch that carried on into the fields.. well I may take off a few more points..
