From what I can see it is a normal coin. Machine damage to me is not a plus for a coin.

Thanks Coop, I was asking about Machine Doubling to give myself something to compare to when looking for doubling was all.

Looks normal. You might be getting tricked by some glare. And I've found that coins from that vintage are struck on worn tooling, so things aren't as sharp as they might otherwise be. You'll find lots of examples of MD here...and ebay. Folks there will often sell MD as DD, so be sure you are seeing things correctly if you plan to purchase. Good luck!!
