Sorry I was trying to get it under the 100k limit of the forum, I just saw the optimizer, here is a better one hopefully.

Looks like Die Deterioration. Note on the right side of the building the same shadowing wear can be see there as well. Also on the bottom of the "A" on AMERICA. If it were a RPM, it would be more pronounced. So I'm just seeing die wear in that area. Sorry

Here is a side by side of the two different mint marks for this year.
1941-Large-S-Over-Small-S-Nickle?

The hit to the mint mark make it hard to tell for sure which one it is, but I'm thinking flattened small date.
