I recently got lucky on the return of a poorly conceived purchase. So, I feel like I'm up $500 so I'm taking opinions on what to buy.. I have a lot of my own ideas on the want list but I always like to hear others suggestions. I'm hoping to get a variety of answers, so fire away! Thanks for your opinions!

Personally, I would say silver bullion, either in ASE or Canadian Maple Leafs

Buy a $500 coin that you have always wanted but told yourself you could never afford.

I have recently gotten in classic commemoratives since most of my albums from the Barbers to date have been filled and become boring.

OR what you can do is divide up the money. make a certain portion go to bullion, make another portion go to an expensive single coin, make another portion go to ______, etc (or however you want it). That way, you can get a little o everything that you want.

Have a plan of action and a method of attack, and as always, learn before you buy.

This is the classic coin section. Why are we even talking about bullion?

CC Morgan, maybe in GSA. Definitely what I'd do.

I personally would go after some small classic gold (dollars and quarter eagles) or an 1806 draped bust half in F-VF . If you have an extra $500, why not spend it on a coin that you would otherwise not be able to get?

If I had $500 to spend on coins, I'd probably buy hundreds of bargain pieces... or maybe a few dozen more uncommon examples (such as, um, US classics - though for, say, late Romans there is much more cool variety to be found at $10 and under).

You could buy one pretty nice late-date Standing Liberty quarter, maybe even Full Head, for that kind of money. Just one idea.

Best Regards,

George
