"Wait for me, Daddy," Two dollar coin from the RCM. The last thing I read about this circulation toonie was a release sometime in October. Does anyone have more up to date information? I'd love to see this as a one ounce release, it brings a real humanity to the war time themed coins. cheers Liverpool

I am pretty sure they said that this was one concept for a commemorative coin, however there has been no further update or timeline as to when. However being that this year is the anniversary of the war, and the image is of that genre I would assume it would be released sometime this year.

This should be a very nice coin. The circulation strike commemoratives are always a nice economical way to collect coins and get new collectors interested!

I agree the circulation Commemeratives are a win win. There's no dip in price as its FV. I like when they do up the special folders. Especially when they add some history to them. A very nice inexpensive way to get youth collecting and it's educational too.

I too am a fan, It sucks living way out here in the boonies, we never see any of the special folders. I'm not sure if I spelled boonies right but you get my meaning.

"Selective color application" - need to wait to see the design.
"Canada only" .... probably till coin reveal
Definitively, I think "serious" coins for the collection. Just to see the design.

I've been waiting for these, besides the circulation pack twoonies these silver coins will be added to my small collection. I'm not sure of the selective colouring, but for this I will take a chance. Liverpool

What is with the Mint expecting us to buy coins without an image? Do they really think this is creating a pleasant buying experience? Really, these coins won't sell out before the image is available on ebay (leaked from a CP employee) so what is the point...other than to try to create some buzz for yet another release. If my Rep tries to sell me these coins without an image, he should expect a blast. Or maybe I'll order them with my new credit card "?-?-?-?" and let him guess what the numbers are.

I can't understand why they chose to do it in this manner. If the coin turns out to be poorly done wouldn't it just burden the returns department. Perhaps they over hired and need to put the extra workers to use.

Quote: Or maybe I'll order them with my new credit card "?-?-?-?" and let him guess what the numbers are. That so correct to do it, great idea, CC-Ottawa! I think, they wait for official reveal, but for some reason, probably in order to not mix it with October MC pre-release, already uploaded them to online catalog , but without pictures. Kind of, without expectation to sell, but to make the job easier.
