1972 penny just from the roll, I think it's a DDO, I am not sure which one. thanks.

Hi khasil - looks like a strong case of MD. It was pretty common back in 1972.

No problem. Better to get clarification on coins with errors that fall on known dates for key DDO / DDR.

Machine Doubling. Also maybe Master Die Doubling. Almost half of the 1972 cents have Master Die Doubling because the DD was on the Master Die used to make all of the other dies. This website can explain it better than I can.

I see no evidence of master die doubling. All I'm seeing is machine damage on the date.
