I was in the States last week and I didn't get any ATBs in change, only the State Quarters (duplicates of the +30 I have, can't seem to get new ones) and eagle reverses. In 4 days I only got a single ATB, out of a change machine. They're not minted in ridiculously small numbers so is it because they are being hoarded or unpopular?

SlirExe97 - ATB's are plentiful. Within the past 2 weeks, I have received the first 3 2014 ATB's and many of the 2013's. I think it was just bad luck that you did not get any ATB's.

You should've gone to a bank and bought a couple rolls of quarters. If you weren't so dang far away I would send you the 2014-D Arches I just got in change.

ATB Quarters are pretty common to get in change. I guess you just weren't lucky this time.

I was on a tour so time was tight, we left early and returned late so there would't be open banks around those times. Hopefully if I visit again next time I'll get some.

I haven't seen even one ATB in circulation.

I just received 2 Great Sand Dunes ATBs in change today. That has been the fastest I've seen a new issue in circulation.

Until recently I lived in Georgia and saw plenty of ATB's in circulation. About 2 months ago we moved to Pennsylvania and I have only seen one very crusty looking Arches since we got here. Very strange since we are much closer to the mint than before.

Quote: Very strange since we are much closer to the mint than before. If I remember we had a tread about coin rolls not coming from the mint directly. The mint sells them in bulk to rolling companies then the coins get rolled and sent to banks. Here's another thing no one seems to remember when coming to America for a short time and looking for coins, they think rolls can only be gotten at banks When you take your wallet out to pay for something flip out an extra $10.00 and ask is they have a roll of quarters in their till that you could buy. Stopping for gas? grabbing a bit to eat? If the event you are in the country for is a sporting event or spelling bee/science fair... there are bound to be concession stands. Every time you get change ask for it in quarters, if there is no line ask them if they have any ATB's in good shape. Remember cashiers are not rocket scientists - it's actually a rather boring job. So taking 2 minutes to dig through their change drawer just means it's 2 minutes closer to quitting time. Here's a scary thought... if not already than very soon, there will be more solid nickel Canadian coins in US circulation than in Canadian circulation last week I had $50 of nickels and I got 2 Canadians 1975 and 1995. edit: spelling

I've been getting a lot of Mount Rushmore quarters over the past few months but I haven't seen many of the other ones around. I guess they made so many State Quarters that they don't need to make as many of these.

I am flooded with 2009s at the moment it seems. Haven't seen the new one yet, but have them all except for a few D which I may not even bother with. I usually get 1 per day in change when I get change of either ATB or State Quarter.

They are out there in pockets at least. Every morning, I have been getting a Arches ATB i. Change from the cafeteria at work (coffee is $0.75). They must have gotten a box of them or something.

Good suggestion Aslan, but if you're on a tour the lines are very long and if you end up in the back you won't have enough time. Some people here seem to get ATBs and some not at all. Just wondering, did the State Quarters take a long time to show up in circulation in some places, like ATBs?

I almost never see ATB's or 2009 Territory quarters in southwestern PA. They are rarer than hen's teeth around here. I have pulled 1 DC quarter and about 6 ATB's since 2009. I have to go to the LCS and pay $0.75 a piece for them so that my daughter and I can fill her album. My wife works in retail and she finds them in the till from time to time, but it is quite rare. It's shocking how uncommon they are here.

I get 2013's ALL the time. I have got the whole 2013 set 3x over from circulation and maybe 20 Rushmore. However, 2014's haven't been too common yet and 2010-2011 I almost never see.
Although what brought me to this thread was getting a Gettysburg 2011 and an Arches 2014 today in change from my sody pop. I was almost about to give up and just order the ones I'm missing, but this gives me faith I will eventually get them all in circulation. And the change treasure hunt is half the fun, right?
