The "seller" on ebay is not Drake Sterling. Drake Sterling is based in Sydney. The coin is his coin. The supposed seller on ebay is in South Australia.

Do you think the original seller is having a go at selling it and had Drake on consignment, a dealer would likely be able to resource a buyer better and get more dollars? May explain it? Strange

I'm with Shane on this, it isn't enough that ebay yank the posting as people have already bid thousands of dollars on a fraudulent scam. ANDA should work with the police and make a high profile example in the courts of a couple of these scoundrels with gaol time and heavy fines as a deterrent to others. There are other listings current on ebay for high end coins that appear fraudulent, caveat emptor.

You have to wonder if some of these listings (and the buyers) are engaging in money laundering. Why else would people bid strongly on fake 1930 pennies and items that won't be delivered.

I have just noticed that the real seller is aware of his coin being copied. He has put a little note on his listing. Seems reporting to ebay doesn't make any difference. Its still there both I and the own have reported it but it remains. Sigh so sad. Where's the cops when you need them.
