All - got this one form one of my cashier contacts. I have bought a lot of morgans and even found a few in the wild. This one has a slight goldish tone to it like someone painted it or dipped it in the past. It is also in nearly perfect shape - little or no wear on the breastbone of the eagle and liberty is about perfect. I get a funny feeling that its fake. Lustre seems to be off - but that may be because it was dipped in something or cleaned

That being said . . .

I weighed it and it came in at 26.77 grams on a good digital scale at work - so within a 3 or 4 hundredths of a gram. It was NOT magnetic.

I was wondering if anyone could look at it and let me know their opinion. Thanks!!

Not fake IMO. But the coin is either PL or polished. Can't help you on VAM though.
Rest in Peace

appears to be authentic and polished judging by the halos around the obverse stars.

Looks real, but someone polished the heck out of it.

i bought it from a cashier at a gas station that I have on the "lookout" for me. When she gets silver or rare coins at work, she calls me. I had told her I was leery of it being fake, so told her I would make sure it was real or else would give it back to her for a full refund.

The 1885 O is common. The weight is accurate, so it is not a fake. It is pretty much just good for silver, especially after being polished. But if it was not cleaned, and slabbed MS65 or better, it would be valuable.
