For several days now, whether at work or at home, I'm having trouble loading the ANACS cert verf page. I'm trying it with 2 different computers and 2 different browsers. Anybody else having the same problem?

Yep not working for me either, was last week when I needed it - hopefully just a temporary glitch.

Still down. I called them today and they are aware of the problem, but it's worse than they originally thought, and that it should be back up today...hopefully.

I've never tried their site but I wonder how good their database is. I know they had to scramble to get it up and running so that they could have their name used on ebay.

IMO their database is pretty good. I have a photograde coin of theirs from 1981, and it shows up....when the system works

They outsourced this and it uses a page named anacs.inetlogic.com. Both that and inetlogic.com itself are down. I'm seeing interesting name lookup information, as if they are moving it to Amazon web hosting. We'll have to wait and see...

Still down for the count, and it's been a long count.

Quote: I really try and give ANACS every break I can, but "stuff" like this....... I think if they hired a marketing machine like PCGS or NGC and revamped their website and promoted and hyped as much as the other 2 do they might be right up there making a run for 2nd or even first place. HOWEVER, to fund this they would have to triple their prices to the level of PCGS and NGC and join this club and pay another $30 for variety attribution. There comes a point in all business called "diminished returns" where say you and your partner 2 man show is making decent money for the both of you and the sky is the limit but if you expand now you have to hire more people, buy more equipment, advertise to support the growth, abide by laws that apply to businesses with more than 10 employees, pay more taxes, and so on. Sometimes it is best to just maintain the success you have established and continue on. Just like trying to fight the government or IRS in court over a $200 error on your tax bill. You will end up spending tens of thousands of dollars trying to fight them over $200 and you will automatically lose because that is how they do business.

Just got this email reply from ANACS: Ed, We are currently upgrading our website, which include the Certification Search and Population Reports. I apologize for the inconvenience, we hope to have this issue resolved soon. Andrew Franklin, Office Manager ANACS Coin Grading Ph. 1-800-888-1861 www.ANACS.com

Well if that is true hopefully they will now be on par now with PCGS and NGC with pop reports and such.
Looking forward to the new data as all of the coins I have ever sent in raw all went to ANACS.

I've been trying to complete a registration on ANACS all week. I still haven't been able to register. Makes me wonder if I should bother.

Registration is different. Seems like if you don't call them it's impossible to register online. That's what I had to do, and many others also.
