About a week ago I posted a thread asking if you guys believed this (below) coin to be deliberately toned, or by happenstance. Most responders, including myself, believed it to be natural.

But now I run across this PCGS MS-65 example with almost identical toning. They also have consecutive PCGS serial numbers.
My question is what do you think is behind this?

On one hand it's fishy that 2 same year/mint coins would have the same exact toning. They HAVE to have toned in the same manner, whether it was through an incidental process or a result of mad science. One could argue that they were in the same coin album but there's only one hole for a 1909-P.
On the other hand, since they have consecutive PCGS serial numbers they must have been submitted together. I don't think it's likely the PCGS graders didn't notice this.
One last cynical possibility is that they were deliberately toned AFTER being in the PCGS holder, although I have no evidence to support that theory. And I don't think that's consistent with the type of toning on those coins.
PS: For now I plan on bidding on it.
