I'm not even sure what to make of this auction for a 1909-S VDB.

It's extremely rare and you should immediately put a bid on it

Me? I'm more of a silver bug anyway.

I guess people see what they want to see, well, in this case I think they are trying to convince you to see it. I kind of like the saying a picture says a thousand words.....kind of the same as a professional certified grading says a lot more for a coin with that price tag on it.

I guess you can put anything on ebay and people will buy it but, this is about the worst I have ever seen..
And.. with only 91.7% feedback, why wouldn't you trust him.

The seller thinks that random dark stains are mintmarks and initials. And its funny how in the title it says #MUSTVIEWPICS#. Yeah, you should trademark that. 😕

Yeah, he's been a member since August and already has three Negs and a Neutral (don't think that one was earned) in a total of 21 transactions. He's one of those who sees an error in everything.

Paul, I was going to edit your thread title to something more descriptive, until I realized you got it right.

Well, we're pretty sure it's a coin.

I wonder why his return policy is "Seller does not offer returns"?

I'm not a LWC expert, but I've never seen a mint mark, let alone 2 mint marks, on the reverse of a Lincoln Cent as the seller appears to indicate in his fourth picture. This coin is a rare gem indeed. I'm having a hard time determining, between the buyer and seller in this transaction, who is luckier.

And if you look real close, you'll also see the Virgin Mary eating a piece of toast.

And notice how this joker believes that the "S" mintmark is on the reverse, at the bottom where the VDB would be.

And no picture of the full coin.

What's the moral of this story? All you have to do is put "1909SVDB" in the headline of your ebay offering and you will be able to find at least one sucker who will give you a hundred bucks for it. (The headline, not the coin.)
