another one. noticed the rippled surface at rim of coin. then noticed the tip of the leaf is a bit long. Also surface behind the k is rough. As a newbie I'm curious what this is. I remember reading somewhere that the ripple effect can be caused the first few strikes of a coin. Is this whats going on, grease?

I also have a '64 5 cent with the same die crack off the leaf. mine doesn't have the strange suface near the edge though. I have seen that effect on other coins though but I don't think it is a rippled coin due to the fact that a new die wouldn't have a die crack already.

nice coin!

Thanks guys. I thought it unlikely there would be a die crack on a new die. Thanks for the thoughts.
