Some of these look amazing! About 150 lbs. of coins found in a single hole by an amateur metal detectorist. What a find!

Story in link with video. Some photos of the coins found from the British Museum:

I'm sure there are. There was a hoard of over 52,000 pieces found a few years ago. Two and a half times the size of this current "largest hoard ever found".

First the Saddle ridge Hoard and now this? Man, there are a ton of large finds lately. It kind of makes me want to invest in a metal detector...

Wow! I think it's safe to say that there are more hoards like this one buried in the UK. Imagine this, some rich Roman guy buries his life savings on his property, and he dies or forgets about it. There could be a treasure right under your feet. Get digging, UK members!

Well, it does make me wonder....

If only I knew where to look. I don't think English Heritage would like it if I started digging holes around Hadrian's Wall looking for buried treasure.

The oldest coin I've found with the detector (that I bought my wife for her birthday last month) was a 1980 cent. I've found a ton of nails & pop-tops though if anyone wants to trade. These aren't just any nails, they were used to build Noah's ark. CoA available when I get more printer ink.
