Should have been looking 18 years ago, can only blame the KOATT for not letting me know back then.

I'm confused. What am I looking for? The core color looks different but that's all I see.

I am sure the left was struck on a German planchet, the right was on a Canadian one.

I took the crash course from Francois,...and I still have trouble seeing the difference..

Do you have big blowups to show the different metal spread between the dates..and rim to inner rim..?

It's not yet a given for me..I need guidance..as do most
..Maybe after you have handled a lot of them..it gets a bit easier..

Is there any other markers apart from the lines on the outside ring of the planchet?

I'm sure that Roger was very fair....as he has been with me..

OK...So if we now go back to your original pics at the top ..it's much more difficult to see the fine striations across the ring.
Your bottom 2 pics makes it look sooo easy..ha..ha..

...and now everyone here is digging into their 1996 stash and hoping that the lower graded ones also have good value..

Zonad..Thanks for the much better pics..

D.

...and now I think that I'm "rich".. as do the rest of us here..

In Zonad's pics is it possible to have the striations looking not as strong or half the definition (if that's the right word), all there from rim to rim but not strong.
