Hello. We found this coin near the front door of our home in Trenton, N.J. The coin was in the dirt and was heavily corroded. For reference to identify the coin, our house was build sometime prior to 1740 based on a title search. For example, we found a copy of the Pennsylvania Gazette, a newspaper edited by Ben Franklin, in the house's wall. Please help me to identify the coin. There is an image of a woman's torso on the left. The reverse side seems too badly corroded to be useful in identifying it. Many thanks.

Looks like a button instead of a coin. That coil on the bottom picture is raised right?

Yes, the coil on the back is raised. So you think it's a button, not a coin? Not too valuable or historical/datable, then?

Some buttons from early revolutionary period are quite valuable.
