Just4Fun: it is a bit difficult from your photos to get a good view of a number of key characteristics used in assigning grades. I'm not being critical, here, just realistic. The date, hair, cheekbone, buffalo's horn, etc. are all critical.

From the photos, it seems that the nickels may have been cleaned. It raises suspicions when there is a significant amount of wear but little dirt in the "cracks and crevasses" of the design. One must remember, however, that as the devices on a coin wear smooth, that dirt is lost as well...

Just some thoughts.
Best wishes

I agree that the coin has been cleaned ,, abrasively, which is very much more damaging to the coin and its grade.

I also agree that pictures of the whole sides of the coin are needed for grading.

I would grade your nickel VG-8 for details but I agree it has been harshly cleaned. It's value is probably no more than that of a Good-4 example.
Can you back off on your camera position enough to get the entire coin in the image? A smaller image that shows the whole coin would make it easier to get a good feel for the grade.

I agree with many of these postings. I would grade it maybe VG-8, and if it is cleaned net G-4. I don't know where you get these coins , if it is from a dealer let me make a suggestion. Ask him to see the better date/grade coins.
My dealer has some nice ones in the cases, but keeps double row wooden boxes of the bulk of the other dates/grades in each series. Take a look at some (preferably with some kind of loupe) in XF-AU-MS grades and note the colors and surface textures .You will be able to spot the telltale signs of cleaning in no time ! Unless they are all cleaned !
