Here's the 1863 that I've been looking for forever, well maybe a year (and a thousand listings). I was very excited to find it and add it to my collection. Now it's on to the next Holy Grail lol...

Looks like an S5, interesting variety on a high AU coin. Nice addition to your collection.

"AU64" is the term I use for high AU coins that simply slap around a lower MS coin in terms of eye appeal - coins which, when Uncirculated, would have been Gems. This is one. This coin might have gone 66 or 67 when first issued.

Thanks everyone ! It is an S5 and I was having a dickens of a time finding one. They are as hard to get as the last cheese ball at a Honey Boo Boo family gathering.... There must have been quite a few Snow geeks, like myself, looking for this one. I just happened to come across it shortly after he listed it. Bought it as quickly as I could. I usually like to dicker with a dealer even if there isn't a best offer option but I figured after so many misses that I would just pay what he wanted. Happy happy !

My first impression was AU-55. It could make AU-58 though. Personally, I see signs of circulation on the lower hair curls, cheek, and fields.
