So I found a 5 dollar bill, a polymer one, it is currently wedged in a Gaelic grammar book at my parent's house.

It has a fold down the center and a second fold coming off that main fold as if someone went to fold it and messed up.

Would it have any premium? Even a 10 cent premium? Would their always be someone out their that would gladly give you a 5 dollar bill and a penny for a RADAR?

I know nothing about bill collecting/grading and I will keep this bill as it was my first RADAR find but I was curious if a RADAR will always be wanted by someone.

Harmonica, probably wouldn't be worth that much extra with the folds you mentioned.

All depends on the serial and how "desirable" it is.

Condition plays a large role in the premium you can get for a radar note.

Generally collectors only want Unc notes.

If the note isn't anything special with the exception of the RADAR serial number then .. yeah.. UNC's are what are desirable.

Now if the note happened to be a changeover prefix.. or already within a replacement range or had another printing error associated with the note... then conditional issues may be overlooked..

Ok, I figured as much, thanks guys.

So do bill guys use the same terminology as coin guys? The 1-70 scale?
Anything below a MS 60 won't be desirable?

Silver coin, excuse my ignorance but what is a "changeover prefix"?

Yikes, moved by staff to more appropriate forum. Sorry Moderators, I thought a RADAR on a bill was a universal thing, not a Canadian thing.

It is universal (at least North American), but I think you will get more responses on their value in a currency forum. At least I hope you will. We can always move it back later if it stagnates here.

A changeover prefix is when the printers during a run of printing notes.. stop printing the notes with one set of signatures and change to a different set of signatures.
