I picked up two coin albums while I was in Canada in 2008. I figured I would just used them for common current day world coins that I get on trips. It looks like some of the pages are turning green but it's only the pages and not the coins.

Should I remove the coins? I don't feel like storing them in flips do their non existent collectors value, though I have current high denomination coins like euros, pounds, and dollars. Most of the slots are staying stable over the last six years. Could gaming arcade tokens stay In there without changing colors and taking PVC damage?

I was given one of these as a child back in the mid eighties, I pulled it our of storage about a year ago, and I noticed no ill effect on the coins, most of which were modern, there were a couple silver quarters as well. the one issue I see now, is how to get them out, because you need to really force them in.

Yes, you should remove the coins from the holder, and give them several thorough acetone rinses. Gaming arcade tokens would suffer the same effects as the coins. PVC does not discriminate, whatever is in there will turn into a green, gooey mess over time. Luckily, you have caught this as an early stage, so the coins are most likely salvageable.

I remember those. Definitely not safe. I agree with what wheatchaser said.

Probably a good idea to give the coins you remove a good soak and rinse in acetone to get any remnants of PVC off them.
