Just wondering if you purchased this from one of the several sellers on ebay that seem to have an endless supply of raw frosty PL Morgan dollars? I have been looking at many and cannot recall being able to identify just one VAM number. I been tempted to test this water but haven't come across one yet that fits the budget of a raw example.

Yours seems to have PL fields but I cannot tell if it meets DMPL from the photos posted. BTW, 97-S is no stranger to PL & DMPL examples.

Unless the weight and dimensions are "off" it looks like a typical 97-S DMPL Morgan. There are lots of them out in coinland in the MS 61 to 63 grades.

Just using these photos I think the coin might be doctored. In hand might be a different story but it's a gamble.

Whizzed. Look at the nose you can see the lines and it looks like they hit her nose with the wheel. Stay away. To many nice slabbed examples just shop and wait for the right one it will come
