Are Die Chips Common On The 2007-P Washington Dollar?

amnight Valued Member United States 332 Posts	Posted 10/22/2014 01:22 am I have found 4 die chips on the reverse of this coin. There is one in each upper loop of both "S" of "STATES". Also, there is one over both the "R" and "I" in "AMERICA". I wanted to know if this is a common occurrence on this type of coin? Thanks for the reply's and help! Report this Post to the Staff

coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 10/22/2014 10:11 am A lot of the single squeeze dies show these die chips. Nickels, quarters and others. The design is more shallow and they chip out and look different, but are common later die state coins. Most of these dies are continued to be used and continue to breakdown getting worse before they are retired. Report this Post to the Staff

I bring home several each day. I dont collect them but still search them for errors. Then take them to a friend that collects them. In exchange she saves all the wheat pennies she comes accross. She works at 7-11, another person collects all 2.00 bills in exchange for all wheat pennies, he works at a gas station L. I have a pretty good size collecting ring going on through out the valley.
