I am finally through the big Mercury dime lot I purchased. Mostly average circs and 1940's. The possible 1916-D is still out at ANACS, due to ship 10-27. (another topic)

This is the only other interesting find, I have researched over the net and here in CCF. I could use some help from members. Plenty of shots to view. Thanks as always!!

1942-D over 1? It is a little banged up, especially the MM.

In my rookie opinion, I think it might be.

The diagnostics seem to match http://blog.davidlawrence.com/index...-6-194241-d/

Thanks Meadowview, that was one of the first articles I read when I googled the 42-D/1.

This coin also has the doubling in "GOD WE TRUST". most evident on the W and E of WE. But I could not get a good closeup of it.

The best I could get on the doubling on "IN GOD WE TRUST" plus an additional photo.

Thanks Macmercury,
I feel better on this one than the 16-D merc that ended up being a 16-S.

ANACS has extended the fall insider promotion to the end of November.

I will try and get this one in the group to submit before the offer expires.

This is the ANACS offer....

$11.50 per coin, 10 coin minimum per submission, 30 coin maximum per submission. Economy Service and $500 maximum value per coin. U.S. minted coins only. Other services (Attribution, Conservation, Imaging, etc.) are optional and available for an additional fee. Submissions must be postmarked by November 29, 2014. This deal cannot be combined with any other offer.

Just an update, I sent the coin off to ANACS yesterday since they had the free 2 coin grading promotion for ANACS members.

I will post pictures when it comes back, probably early January.
