Hi guys, I'm just getting into vams and was checking my stock this morning and I have a morgan that is clearly an O/S, you can see a the diagonal shadow line in center plus a strong bottom curve and serif bulb of S inside bottom of O as well as top curve of S inside top of O both symmetrical with the shadow line. It's a bold repunch! It's raw but choice at around ms-63... Thing is its an 1884...not 82... is this a VAM or ?... I'll try to add a pic if I can figure it out. Thanks

Some good photos will be essential to assessing exactly what your specimen represents. However, if legitimate, an 1884 O/S variant ought to have been identified long before now. There is a well known repunched mintmark VAM for this issue, and my expectation is that it will turn out to be one of those.

Yes I know of the VAM 6 I believe, with the O/O repunch. This is definitely NOT one of them. This is clearly an S under the O. Should I send to Leroy van allen?... also, the pics were good before the optimizer.

We have to keep this to one thread to avoid confusion, so we'll keep the one with the images.
