I was wondering if at what point they may show up. My freind who worked at cvs had someone come in with a pile of kennedy proofs. Anything can happen.

Always looking! ... Just not finding Best circulated proof finding I ever witnessed with my own eyes? I worked at a Credit Union, and someone called me to come to the tellerline because a member wanted "someone who knows about coins" to come and look at something. "He's got a gold coin," they said. Thinking it would be either a Sac or Presidential dollar, I was astonished to see that the guy had an impaired proof 1986 Statue of Liberty $5 Commemorative! I asked him how he came buy it, and he said, "A guy gave it to me in change. He said, 'this says five dollars on it, will you take it for that,' and I said yes." Gold was still trading above $1700.00 at that time. I told him it was worth at least $400, and eventually heard he sold it for even more than that ...

They pop up occasionally, I have a couple silver proof Washingtons I have found in the honor box at work and received in change. Often it is because of kids breaking into Dad's coin collection and spending the results.

I've found a silver proof Quarter in circulation, although it wasn't one of the modern "Silver Proof Set" coins; it was a 1963 cameo proof. Other proofs I've come across (all clad): 1973 Ike dollar, 3 Kennedy halves (dates escape me), 1996 Quarter, James Polk $. One of the cashiers at a gas station I frequent recently showed me a 1974 proof Ike dollar (clad) that someone spent, and she bought from her drawer. I gave her a flip to keep it in.

The only proof coins that I have found were cents and they were heavily used. I kept them anyway. Always looking but never finding. The story of my life.

I'v e been change-searching and roll hunting since 1978.
Pocket change has given up silver dimes and quarters, but no proof coinage. Roll hunting otoh, has given silver and clad proof dimes and halves, but to this date no proof quarters.
When I listen to LED ZEPPELIN...so do my neighbors... Roll hunting since '77 Dirt fishing since '72

I haven't found any proofs, but I believe I get a 1966 SMS quarter in change last year. This `66 looks much different than any 1966 quarter I have gotten in change.
Last week I did get a 1959P dime in some change. It is not retired from circulation.

I've found a few clad halves in roll searching, but never a silver proof. Always on the lookout though!

Only if they come by in change by accident.
I did find a California impaired silver proof a few years back ... lucky day for me.

I am not a roll searcher and do not have any good finds to mention that I have gotten back in change, but hubby brought me home a BU Mercury a couple weeks back. That was nice
