This has me scratching my head. The details look correct to me but the weight is what concerns me the most. I'm getting a reading of (roughly) 1.634g when according to RedBook, weight should be 1.672g. Obverse is polished though. I'd appreciate any thoughts.

I'm guessing ex-jewelry piece. Tough to determine authenticity from the pics. Weight is close, but I'm no expert as to whether it is within tolerance.

I think Ex: Jewelry. Polishing is pretty obvious.

Thank you for the replies. I actually sent this one to NGC some time ago hoping to add it to my slabbed type set but it came back with a "Not Genuine". Didn't look wrong to me so my only thought was maybe it weighs wrong. Any other potential reasons TPG would determine it's not genuine?

No guarantee it's even gold. One can assume NGC is using XRF Analysis on all incoming coins, so they'd catch it instantly if it weren't the exact proper alloy.
