From my Grandfather's wonderful collection, thinking of buying this from my grandmother, was wondering the grade. Also, can someone explain to me what a "GSA" holder is and why they were made?

Cheek is pretty hammered so I'd give it a 62.

They are nice coins to have regardless of the grade.

To maintain provenance, keep the coin in the hard plastic holder along with the black box and GSA card.

I was thinking MS-62/63, probably closer to 62.

Pretty scuffy, MS62 would be all I'd expect.

Typical frosty GSA issue, and those marks are extremely deceiving. I'm willing to bet 80% of that disappears with a slight change in lighting.

Definitely a typical GSA. I'd say it's a solid 63.

I will go with MS-63+. Might even grade 64. I think it is mostly luster grazes and not really any deep marks.

63. GSA's are my favorite.
