I have a 1964-D quarter with an odd mark on the reverse -- kind of looks like a distorted "D" to the left of, and slightly above, the mint mark. It doesn't appear to be a double die, though I'm certainly no expert on DD. The only thing I can think of is a repunched mint mark. I've searched the web and have found a few images of confirmed RPMs that look similar -- but not enough for me to be convinced that's what it is. It could just be discoloration or a smudge mark from something for all I know.
Any help anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
- Rob

It looks like where a small piece of gum was, it should come off with acetone.

Possible water spot or some liquid that evaporated. Sometimes called mild spots, but are a distraction to collectors.
