westernsky Pillar of the Community United States 7618 Posts	Posted 11/01/2014 1:06 pm Bag marks and hairlines are two different things. Both coins may have been "wiped" at one time and the result is the thin "hair lines" you see in the fields...especially on the reverse. Bag marks are from contact with other coins. The amount, severity and location of the bag marks weigh in to the numeric grade. They have no bearing on whether the coin is "circulated" or "UNC". Both are still nice coins.
