I had my order in for the uncirculated Great Smoky Mountains 5 oz in months ago. (I received the next ATB puck before the Smoky Mountain puck ever updated). The shipping date was moved back multiple times. Finally the mint website just said the order was cancelled. Now I am trying to find the uncirculated version but the markup is really high. Did something happen here that I missed?

The premium seems to be higher for the P Smoky Mountain 5 oz ATB than the others for 2014. Not sure why that is.

You can still buy the other ones directly from the mint. For some reason, after the Smoky Mts., the mint decided to raise the mintage limit from 25k to 30k. The Smoky Mts. puck sold out quickly (after 6 weeks I believe).

What I find annoying is that as soon as I got the flyer in the mail so I could order it I sent my order in. So it languished for months, then was just cancelled.

There are a couple of factors accounting for the scarcity of the Great Smoky Mtns collector puck, some of which is mentioned before, e.g. 25,000 mintage vs 30,000 for the other four 2014 pucks, and sold out in under two months. In April, the first of the subscription discounts kicked in, making them $139.45 each. At the time, the bullion puck was trending between $120.00-$130.00 each, so stackers got in the game and bought multiples of the GSM-P as they are packaged. With the 10% discount, collectors also bought multiples of this coin and are holding on to them. It was exactly half of the cost of the 2010 collector pucks. I definitely bought a number of extras. Good for trading for another scarce puck later on down the road.

I don't buy them but is $109 cheaper than the mint sells them or am I missing something?

Debrajc: There are two different version of the pucks, a bullion version and an uncirculated version. The uncirculated version has a "P" mint mark and a vapor blast finish.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I knew I was missing "something" just didn't know what it was.

Smokey Mountain was the least produced this year, but with low spot and no discount on the P version, the Everglades may be the least sold. It will be on sale in a few minutes, time will tell.

It's probably good idea to keep an eye on the Everglades sold number and sudden "sold out" decision from the mint.

I think the bullion version will sell out quickly due to spot silver price but the P version will linger for quite awhile.
Not too many will jump at that inflated P price....
There WILL be a sudden "sold out" notification for the P but it will be months in the future. It will never get near the 30k max mintage

I agree. Are there places to buy the bullion version other than online?

The bullion versions of the 5 oz pucks were sold exclusively by the Mint to authorized bullion dealers? I do not see them on their web site. Quote: Are there places to buy the bullion version other than online? Of course there are. You can buy them at your local coin shop if they have any or at coin shows.
