Recent find: 1960 Small Date penny in the change machine at Walmart. Could be MS-63.

Yesterday a customer paid for their car parts at my work using dollar coins. 6 rolls of 25 each, I bought them out just to look through them all. I don't know enough about variations to look for, but these 2 caught my eye. I LOVE finding circulated proofs, although I assume the worst and always have this image of a thief stealing all sorts of proof sets and then breaking them open to spend them at face value.

Hi, I am new to coin community. Last week I hit a local bank for 6 rolls of hand rolled dimes . 1 roll was filled with pre 1964 dimes. My first good find in 2 years.

Ram. Outstanding find! I've never been so fortunate with rolls!

Regarding the Presidential dollar coins above, there are inscriptions along the rim, including the date. It's best to use a basic magnifying glass to read the rim. You will find both P and D mint marks for each president. Also, there are two variations of each; the first variation is when you're reading the inscription, either the obverse(heads) will be on the top of the coin, or the reverse(tails) will be on the top of the coin(facing up when reading the inscription). I think I've read that the way the rims are struck, there should be roughly equal amounts of each type. Therefore, Washington should have four versions--2007 P (face up), 2007 P (tail up), 2007 D (face up), and 2007 D (tail up). I hope this helps if you plan to start a collection. Some of the later Sacagawea dollars that don't have a date on the obverse, have the inscription and date on the rim. They also have face up, tail up variations.

I posted this a while ago in a different thread, but I found an off-center Lincoln Cent in circulation. It has no date, but still a neat find.
