Hi Karen,
Kennedy halves are not so much circulated. I mean some people spend it like in a liquer store {at least in my neighborhood]
some banks have them. I don't find many banks that have them in my area. Some banks don't want to give them up unless you are a customer. The half dollars I was referring to is the Kennedy half.
As for the 'big coin' [Iks] it is the Eisenhower dollar coin.

The dollar coin you may have is the Susan B Anthony.

Ok, Rick, what do you do go in with a gun and hold everyone at bay while you go thru their change. I don't have much luck getting people to let me see in their cash drawers. Whats your approach?

My "Honey" gave me 4 rolls of U.S. "Cent's" for my birthday - thinking it would keep me busy for a while - I found 1 1917 Wheatie in G-VG, 2 Canadians and 1 - 2005 One Cent from Barbados, almost UNC...very strange for U.S. "Penny" wrappers!!!!!! There were many pre-1982 Cents but, I only kept the '60's that I need for my "98 Years Of Lincoln" tubes that are almost finished - whew!

My most interesting finds so far were a 1858 Flying Eagle I got in change at Burger King, and a early 1900's Canadian Dime I got in change

You got a Flying Eagle in change at a Burger King...in change period - WOW! Somebody really robbed Grandpa's Piggy Bank for that one or did a big boo boo! That's great for you though! Terrific find!

1858 Flying Eagle!!!! Wow!!!!

I just paid $40 for one in good condition.

I have heard of occasionally finding Indian Head cents, but never a Flying Eagle. Somebody's coin collection has to be missing a Flying Eagle cent!!

my weekly coin roll attack:

8 wheaties, 5 canadian cents, and a silver War Nickel! its got a lot of green gunk on it though, so I may have to clean it a bit (gulp!).

next time I am only attacking rolls of nickels, I am so tired of going through pounds of pennies at this point!
Rest in Peace

Nothing spectacular by any means, but I found two coins today which were interesting.

1977 D Jefferson nickel, BU, with filled mint mark.

West Virginia Statehood Quarter which looks off-center. Rim on one side is wide, and on the other side is very thin.

Wow- now there's a find! In my seven-plus years at the bank I have found one Flying Eagle cent. It's beaten, battered, and bent, but it was still one of the most exciting things I've ever found.
