Have you ever seen the contest where you
spot the differences between two photos,
well this is your opportunity to inspect
these two Voyageur Dollars one 1976 and
one 1977.

List all of the differences,
try not to miss any, there are many features
that you can see or may know about from
reference books. Have fun.

Can you be more specific?

I'll start - denticles in '76, beads in '77

Yes I agree with both of you, totally remastered and different denticles and all, I think the queens portrait is even smaller on the 1977!

The 1977 has:
Beads
smaller lettering/font
smaller canoe
More prominent northern lights
less waterlines

Excellent responses @robmck1967, Northern Lights Lines are not incused but have relief above the plane of the field.

Something else that has not been mentioned has relief in the '77 but is incused in the '76 as well.

As for the dates;
1976 - Flared 1, Blunt 9, Pointed 7
1977 - Straighter 1, Pointed 9, Blunt 7s

Emanuel Hahn's initials EH incused on '76
and relief on '77

Thicker Rim on the '77, and use of beads,
with more distance between the legend and
the beads than in '76 where the legend is
closer to the denticles. This made for an
overall smaller design in '77, and use of
different sized lettering and font, with
smaller date.

Anything else like rope lines on the
bundles in the canoe?
