I'm not really sure which is the best forum to put this in - but as it's a UK based show here might be the best.

Has anyone else seen the TV series "The detectorists"? With Toby Jones and MacKenzie Crook - criminally releguated to BBC4?

Apparently Mackenzie is a detectorist and coin collector in real life.

I thought it was great!

I thought it was slow to get going then developed brilliantly. I loved the last episode. Terrific characters.

And apparently they are making another series!

My only complaint is that when I last looked only the last four episodes were available on the BBC iPlayer. Why not the all of them!? Most odd! Perhaps they are trying to get us to buy the DVD?

I suspect that's the case. I'm not a huge fan of the BBC but this was just great. I think it came across as being one guys project (Mackenzie's) rather than being honed to perfection by committee and having the soul stripped out of it.
