This is definitely better, particularly the obverse which was out of focus in your last shots.
The different background is causing your white balance to be off obverse to reverse. You may wish to try shooting both on the same background to get more consistent color. If the coin is in an album, pick the color you like better and fix the white balance (take it off auto). It also appears your lighting may be different. Try to keep the lighting consistent to get more uniform results.
Big improvement though. Are you happier?
Let me know how it goes!

OH - sorry. I saw the title and not the thread. You're looking for a grade. In that case, looks high AU - I'd say 55 or better. The browning leads me to believe this is not a Mint State coin, but not far off. Nice example!

Thanks! I have it in a casing where the front and back are different colors, but I hope that doesn't effect the highlights of the details. It must have spent the past 95 years in open air because I found it in bulk and not encased, maybe this is why it turned brown. To the eye the reverse has the same RB hue as the obverse pic

AU50/53. If the reverse retains the same amount of color as the obverse, it might slide into at 55 holder as well.

get that verdigris off the reverse. verdicare soak and a rose thorn or toothpick will take care of that.

Thanks everyone, the front and back are the same tone under the same light. Where does the wear appear that keeps it from MS? Or does that have more to do with the hair marks

Cheek, beard, rim, jacket (obv), wheat stalks (rev). It's not so much the wear as the change in color that tells me. Were it MS it would be a more even brown. That said, I've seen more worn coins more evenly brown. Tough one, thanks for sharing!

New pictures with natural sunlight and black background to show true tone/color.

AU 50-55 R&B. I think your photography issues are due to your background really. Try a tan or buff background and I think you'll get a better representation of the true color in hand.
