Good day all, I recently purchased an 1858 canada 10 cents. Price was fair I bought it. Upon further looks I noticed some sort repunch over something on the second 8. Wondering if anyone has any opinion is r has seen this type before? Many thanks Edited by JeyRey2000 11/17/2014 3:03 pm

I see something , but not enough to conclude anything. It may be tough, but a sharper image is still needed.

There seems to be a lot of die crack activity and deep gouges---around the leaves and in the fields---which might have put metal into the loops of the 8.Need X200 pics.

I will see what I can do with my USB micro tonight at home!you may be on to something Lambecolin
It just looks like something was under the top 8, maybe even another 8.

In the grade, the evidence is inconclusive. PMD is evident on the S in CENTS, a gauge to the leaf opposite, and I presume additional bag marks appear elsewhere. doug
