Issue price on these 4 coins was $114.95 each or $459.80.
$239.95 is cheap and if I didn't already have two of them, I'd be on it.

I looked at them but 15k mintage was just too high even at a discount for my liking , but if someone likes the design then it was a good deal but I just didn't like them well enough I guess.

Off cause useless to buy just due to heavy discount.
These for series collector, imo. Didn't know, that at 2011 they issued 4 "Snowflakes" ... too much, I think.

The other troubling fact with this sale is, Colonial Acres is not even a RCM dealer, either they paid a collector under 200.00 for this set or they got a great deal from an RCM distributor. This is probably true market value for 98% of all NCLT coins.

I collected all of the 'traditional' snowflakes going back to 2007 but when the Mint started issuing the variants like the small crystals and then the pine cone crystals, they killed the series. One of the owners of Colonial Acres also does the updates for the RCM Products Canadian Coin News Trends prices. I wonder if the next excerpt will show a reduction that reflects this price.

I doubt it, but I don't really have a problem with it either, just because Walmart has a sale one week doesn't mean the price should be dropped permanently. I understand where you're coming from, but that's a little bit of a personal stab at CA. And to be frank, I don't think he necessarily 'volunteered' for the job, maintaining Trends would not be something I want to do, no matter what you do people are going to get upset at you.

I asked that question earlier in another thread, if a coin is blown out at one vendor, do the others value their inventory at this lower of cost or market value. It would have a negative affect on inventory valuations. Example, CA blows out the GITD Dinos for all 4 for $169. Is this the new market value for the set? My thinking is no, like fed_ink85 said, just because Walmart blows it out does not mean the retail price is the sales price. It is an aberration, item is sold at below market value to spur sales.

If there is permanent stock at that discounted price, it affects the market price of course. Otherwise, the market price would be higher.

The Coin Cabinet in the latest CCN issue has an add, just purchased 100,000 RCM coins collection, must move, want list? my guess they paid about 50% of issue. My point was on this set, Colonial Acres has a pulse on the coin markets, if these coins could come close to issue price, they would have asked for it rather than the sale price, just reflects the sad state of NCLT coins
