Longacre doubling. Adds no premium. This one may squeak out an MS-64. Is it a type-1 or type-2?

Looks like Longacre doubling, not a doubled die; beautiful coin, at least a 64BN, Type 1. I believe I also see clash marks on the obverse.

Hmm, seems it was somewhat better than first expected.

Nice IHC. But.... The muted, but multiple colors combined with the light scratches in the field, may find a slab titled "details, retoned/recolored". Dirt in the crevices may be the tattle tale. LIKE the coin though!

To tell the full story. This coin came out of a junkbox, FULL of verdigris, it was almost unrecognizable. But I saw a hint of luster beneath the grime, and decided to acetone it. The color was evident before the acetone, so it hasnt been altered in anyway (by me atleast) I know my way around removing dirt from coins, without ruining them.
I doubt it would get altered colour, but you never know.

First things first.....I'm very conservative when it comes to grading. I would grade it a solid AU58 judging by the pictures. The main reason is because of the small amount of dirt in the crevices. I feel an MS (uncirculated) coin shouldn't have dirt on it. My thought is it must have circulated, or how else did the dirt get embedded into the minute crevices.
